Birth Announcement

On a beautiful fall morning, Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 we had a healthy baby boy at 11:32am. His name is Theo Allan and he weighed 8 lbs 8 oz and is 21 inches long. He is gentle, sweet, strong and wonderful. The family is adjusting very well to his arrival and we are thankful for all the support we have around us. Love, Olson Family of 5.

Birth Announcement

Risa Mae Olson was born on Saturday March 2, 2002 at 4:05pm. She weighed 7lbs 4oz. Laura and Erik are tired but doing great. Emma is so excited. She called our friend Jonathan and said "Hi Uncle Jona. Emma big sister... Risa".

Update - July 2000

Dear All,  
Hope this note finds you well. We are enjoying summer. Having Erik around means lots of chances to swim, play and try to do some long-awaited house projects. We are happily preparing to celebrate Emma's first birthday. It is incredible to note her growth over this year. We are busy watching her as she explores her world more and more. She is pulling up to standing and "cruising" the furniture. She is a quick and curious crawler. She loves to clap, babble, laugh to herself, and play peek-a-boo. She climbs without much fear. She loves to look out the window in search of dogs, squirrels and trees rustling in the wind. She adores her dad and our family playtime. She is getting more interested in books. She loves to empty cabinets, laundry baskets, shelves, etc. Her menu and appetite are expanding greatly. We could go on and on. Needless to say the adventure gets more challenging and wonderful. She is a light and we continue to give thanks for her.

Update - March 2000

hi, everyone. quick update...very quick as emma is rolling everywhere and must be watched at all times.  latest tricks:  rolling, rocking on all fours, sitting up by herself, peeking around corners/shoulders/etc., "talking" using consonant babble sounds, and much more.  she has two teeth coming in front, bottom, center.  she is our sunshine girl and a sweet, strong angel. 

check now and then again in another week or so for more new ones.  erik and i are doing well. erik is recovering from a thrilling bball season with high school girls making it to state finals only to lose in overtime.  emma helps us to keep perspective on what is really important.  hope you all are well. more later. love, L

Update - November 1999
Hi, everyone!  Happy Thanksgiving from balmy, does-not-seem-like-November Austin.  80 degrees today.  Hope this greeting finds everyone doing well. We are doing great.  Emma is a treasure.  She is four months old and wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.  She weighs almost 15 pounds and is a tall girl...25 1/2 inches long.  Hmmm...wonder if there is basketball in her future???  She is rolling over, holding her head up, laughing, squealing, fake coughing, and putting everything into her mouth. it is incredible. last night she and her papa ended up literally covered in black ink after a romp in the sunday newpaper. it was hilarious.

We will be here hosting Thanksgiving with friends and Erik's folks.  Look forward to it.  Tofu turkey for everyone!!

Update - September 1999
Emma's doing great... nursing well, growing big and strong.  She is a peaceful, playful girl.  Mom and Dad are loving parenthood, a bit tired but otherwise delighted.  We had a wonderful time the new grandparents -- lets just say that Emma's hardly been put down for 2 weeks.

Emma Grace Olson was born at home on Thursday, July 15, 1999 at 8:31pm. She weighed 8lbs 7oz. and was 20" long. She's pink and beautiful. Laura and Erik are tired, but doing great.
