Princess is very special to me and always will be.  She was my first champion Alaskan Malamute.  She just turned 13 years old on December 14, 2001, and while she has slowed down a little, she is still hanging tough. 
 
She actually is a very gentle dog, and is always available to help rear a litter of puppies.  When her "arch enemy" Diamond had her litter, Princess stood in the doorway whining to come in.  Believe me ~ Princess NEVER wanted to be where Diamond was.  But she could hear those puppies and there was nothing finer to her than a litter of puppies.....didn't matter whose they were.  So when Diamond would go out to do her duty, she would come into the whelping room, go over every one of those pups and make sure everything was in order.
 
She also helped to raise Diamond and Maverick from puppy hood.  She monitored their play and when things got too rough or too serious, she would always step in.  Gentleness and fairness are always traits Princess has exhibited, and she sums up what is meant by a true "companion".   Visit her photo gallery.

Her Beginnings.....

Princess was born on December 14, 1988.   Her sire was Mal-Pal's Ruff-N-Reddy and her dam was Alcan Encore of Timberdark.  This was a breeding done by Timberdark Kennels owned by Steve Nastwold.

In the Show Ring......

Princess in the show ring.  Well, quite a few years have passed since Princess was shown.  I have to admit that I did not show her to her American Championship.  She received that on January 23, 1994 at the Pontiac Kennel Club.  There was something about me and Princess that just spelled out L-O-S-E-R...if you know what I mean.  Oh she had great confirmation and movement, and she showed great in the ring.....for anyone else BUT me.   I finally gave up trying to animate her in the ring and handed her off to someone else.
