Rudy .... a.k.a. Fruitcake, Tootie Fruity, Wudy, Rew-day, Bone brain...etc.

Rudy.  If there is one single dog in my household that no one ever forgets meeting it's the "fruit cake".  Even the kids in the neighborhood all know Rudy.  He thinks he is the alpha in our household so he and Maverick are arch rivals.  Maybe I should rephrase that:  He really knows how to push Maverick's buttons and Maverick in turn loves to hate Rudy.   If Rudy can get anywhere near Maverick's kennel, he will just stand there looking at him.   Maverick in turn will go bonkers, he makes noises and faces the likes of which I have never seen.  I didn't know such a lovely dog like Maverick can look like Cujo in the blink of an eye.  But Rudy can do it..and he loves to do it.  Those two will be so absorbed in this rivalry that Rudy won't even hear me coming up behind him.  One swat to the behind and he takes off like a bat outta hell with a big grin on his face.

His Beginnings.....

Rudy was born on December 23, 1997.  He was the only red malamute in a litter of 6.  When I first saw him I thought "what the heck is this?"  You see, I was not expecting any reds out of a litter of two parents both wolf gray and white.  Funny thing is when it comes to Rudy, I find myself saying that same thing over and over again...."what the heck is this?".
The unique thing about Rudy is that he always has a goofy look on his face...and it's permanent.  As a young pup he stuck his nose in Uncle Maverick's business one too many times and Uncle Maverick took a snap at him.  As a result Rudy received one small puncture from a canine in the cheek area of his face.  This caused some damage to the growth plate in his muzzle so Rudy's face is a tad bit crooked you might say.  It makes him look like he is sneering at you all the time.   Kind of matches his personality if you ask me.

Today.....

Rudy worships my brother.  But Rudy also likes stinky socks, dead squirrels, and lots of other creepy things, so this shouldn't come as a surprise.  What can I say...you know how brothers and sisters can be.  Rudy sees something in him that I guess I don't.  Rudy also likes to sleep in the bathtub.  He is a big boy so believe me when I say he fills the entire tub up, he does.

Rudy makes life interesting to say the least.  Life without Rudy would be...let's say, not as colorful as it could be.  Be sure to visit Rudy's photo album while you are here.
