Entertainment in 1928

In 1928 you could buy a ticket so your sweetheart could ride in a Ryan Monoplane at Meacham Field, Fort Worth's airport. That's what my dad did when he was dating my mother. My dad didn't go up in the plane for some reason, but knowing him I can understand why.

For a mere 75-cents, you could ride for 30 minutes. The pilot took mom over downtown Fort Worth, Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake Worth. When the plane finally landed, Dad was waiting for her. Mom said it was a "wonderful experience".

Below, is the souvenir ticket of her flight and a picture of the airport, taken from the monoplane.
