I've had a lot questions about track warrants lately, so lets
take a look at a couple of warrants and see what we can do
and what kind of protection they provide us. I'm just going
to list the boxes that are checked. We are in the siding and
will be moving north from Anna to Hope. Track Warrant #1 is
in TWC territory. Track Warrant #2 is ABS/TWC territory.
15 x Flag Protection not required against following trains on the same track.
I. Before we enter the main track to leave Anna, do we need to open the switch and wait 5 min?
A Yes
B No
II. If, for what ever reason, we needed to use the South Swith at Eden, (which is the first switch), could we?
A. Yes
B. No
III. Do our limits include both the North Switch at Eden,(last switch), and the South Switch, (first switch), at
Hope?
A. Yes
B. No
IV. We are leaving Eden and going to Hope, setting out and
picking up cars along the way. We are having signal trouble
and everything is red. (I think we had this same problem a
couple of months ago, buts lets do it again). Are we
required to stop at the STOP AND PROCEED signal when moving
on box 4 authority?
A. Yes
B. No
V. We have reached Hope with only the cars left that need
to be taken back to Eden. Can we leave the cars in the
siding and run around them using the Main Track at Hope?
A. Yes
B. No
VI. We find another way to get around the cars at Hope and
we are still using Track Warrant #2. No more signal
problems, everything is green. At what speed can we run from
Hope to Edan?
A. Maximum Speed
B. Restricted Speed
C. 20 MPH
