The Age of Steam Railroad Museum's restored Santa Fe doodlebug M-160 will be moving under its own power from Dallas Fair Park to downtown Garland on June 30th for the Annual "Star Spangled Fourth of July Pageant." if all goes as planned. The exact time of the movement is still unknown at this point, as it will be subject to KCS and DG&NO traffic, but according to Executive Director Bob LaPrelle it will likely be in the late morning or afternoon.
Movement will be via the UP to the former T&P Jct., over former SP track to the interchange with the former Santa Fe/current KCS and through Zacha/Dallas Jct. to the DG&NO trackage in downtown Garland - on former Katy trackage, no less.
The M-160, Katy diner #438 and GG-1 #4903, will also be on display. The Katy diner and GG-1 will likely follow the M-160 in a later DG&NO movement. All will be on display during Garland's Fourth of July festivities July 4th and 5th and will return to the museum July 6th or 7th.
