Allen Wayne Rozell

Allen Wayne Rozell, 49 passed away Tuesday morning, June 10, 1997 at his home in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was born September 13, 1947, and had lived in Grand Prairie for 44 years.

He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer. He first hired out on the old Great Southwest Railroad on March 10, 1971. He had 26 years service.

Wayne had two years college training and had majored in business administration and minored in music.

In addition to being an engineer, Wayne was a professional musician. He loved to sing and play his guitar in country music bands. He helped organize and was the lead singer of the Neon Rose Western Band.

He was a member of the Hillbilly Chili cooking team. He and his wife organized the Box Car Chili team.

Wayne was preceded in death by a stepson, Ronny "Scooter" Geer, in 1994. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Elizabeth "Ibby" Rozell of Grand Prairie; son, Jeremy Rozell of Grand Prairie; daughter Jennifer Rozell of Grand Prairie; grandsons Travis Rozell and Justin Geer; parents Mary and Herman Rozell of Grand Prairie; sister Barbara Ann Horton of Andrews, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Services were held at 11:00 A.M. Friday 13, 1997, at the Bean-Massey-Burge Chapel in Grand Prairie, with Rev. Steve Dorman officiating.
