Would you believe I collect political campaign button too? The button in the center of the picture is for Calvin Coolidge and his Vice-presidential running mate. Mr Coolidge was president from 1923 to 1929.
In 1959, I was painting the walls in an old house on Weatherford Street in Fort Worth, that was built in 1906. I was putting Kemtone wall paint over the wallpaper in one of the closets, when I noticed a lump about the size of a nickel under the wallpaper.
I'm always looking for hidden treasures for some kind. I got out my pocketknife and cut thru three layers of paper down to the first paper, put in the house in 1906. There it was. A Calvin Coolidge Button had to have been put there between 1923 and 1929. The paper protected it. It was in perfect condition and still is.
Robert is a car inspector at the Crest Yard in Fort Worth. He and his wife Gloria operate "The Colony", a bed and breakfast located in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
