Roy Walter Adams, 54

Roy Walter Adams, 54, a locomotive engineer, died in a train wreck in Fort Worth, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1997. He was born June 24, 1943, in Texarkana, Ark.

Mr. Adams was a locomotive engineer for Union Pacific Railroad for 24 years. He was also a member of Praise Temple Assembly of God in Burleson and was an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Bravo-De-Rueda. Survivors: Wife, Annette "Cheryl" Adams of Burleson; sons, James Adams of Shawnee, Okla., and Donny Adams of Sherman; daughters, Belinda Kelly of Burleson, Sherene Mittelstedt of Austin, Teresa Bravo-De-Rueda of Sherman and Tammy Scott of Pottsboro; father, T.J. Adams of Texarkana; mother and stepfather, Edith and Jesse Barnett of Sherman; brothers, Tommy R. Adams of Chesapeake, Va., and Wayne Adams of Texarkana; four grandsons; and eight granddaughters.

Funeral service was held at Greenwood Funeral Home on Saturday, August 23, in Fort Worth. Graveside services were held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Sherman on Monday August 25.
