The SP Connections at Tower 55 was completed Labor Day week, but it still needs completion at the south end of Ney.
At the south end of Ney Yard, from Louden Street to Berry Street, we have lots of new material that came in to build two new tracks and two new tail tracks.
The two new tracks at Chico are in, but lack switch stands, derails and final tamping.
At Mesquite, four of the five new switches north of Forney Road are in and the tracks built. They are still pouring concrete south of Forney Road.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Larry Chamberlain for continuing to "teach me the ropes" in construction on UP.
Ken McCorkle and Bill Parker seem to be able to give me an answer to any question I ask.
Construction East had its mid-term staff meeting the week of September 15. I became ill and missed it. To all, I apologize. I am greatly looking forward to meeting many of you such as Russell Loyd and Lou Gollitti. I hope to see you soon.
Summer vacation is over and the kids are back in school. but they're still out there -- everywhere.
I'd like to remind everyone that there are a lot of interesting and fun places to take our families here in the Metroplex.
Summer may be over, but lets keep the fun going.
