Ray Von Jagers, 45

Ray Von Jagers, 45, Locomotive Engineer, was killed in a train wreck in Fort Worth, August 20, 1997. He lived in Grand Prairie, and formerly in Dallas. He was born September 6, 1951 in McComb, Mississippi.

Mr. Jagers completed high school in McComb and then came to Dallas to attend Bishop College. He graduated from Bishop with a B.S. degree in political science. While at Bishop, he was a member of Phi Beta Sigma. For the past 20 years, he has worked for the Union Pacific Railroad.

Survivors - are his wife Louella Jagers; children Ray, Jr., Raechel and Robin; brother & sister-in-law, Alphonso & Belinda Jagers; sisters Mary Katie Graves and her husband Duraut, Patricia Ann Jagers, Ruby Knox and her husand Rayord, Ruthie Lee Harris & her husband Shorty; Bertha Sutton and her husband, Stafford; several niecs & nephews and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family received friends at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home in Dallas from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday August 23.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 1997 at the Parsons Hill Baptist Church in Liberty Mississippi, with interment at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Liberty.
