I saw W.B. Mitchell, retired Southern Pacific Engineer at the mall in Plano again last week. Mitch looks really good. He says to drop by his home in Mesquite or give him a call. He's in the book.
Mitch reminded me that he was the engineer on the Paris Local in 1973. I was firing for him and my wife brought our young son, Spencer, over to Paris to ride the engine with us. I had forgotten all about it, but Mitch hadn't and neither has Spencer.
Spencer is now 27-years old and says, "Dad, It seemed like we were hardly moving."
Dan is an engineer working out of Broadway Yard.
