The Locomotive Hotline received eight calls during the past month reporting defects on the Bowl and Hump engines.
Mark Prince, Diesel Facility Manager has promised to fix our problems and has so far done a great job.
Many long-standing problems have been cured as a result of opening up communication between the Diesel Facility and Locomotive Engineers.
However, shop personnel, cannot fix problems they are not aware of. It is up to the Locomotive Engineer to bring problems they encounter in operating an engine to the shop's attention.

Mark asks that we "Please do not report Locomotive Defects to the Safety Hotline, since these must go through a chain of command that slows down the notification process.
