
One of my oldest decks of playing cards was produced about 1916. They are movie souvenir playing cards.
Each card has a picture of a prominent star of "Silent Screen" films of 1916.
There are two of the movie stars that I can remember seeing at the movies, because they went to star in the "Talking Movies," Tom Mix and William Hart. They were the movie cowboys of the early days.
One of the cards has a picture of Dorothy Gish. I don't know if she is kin to the more famous Lillian Gish of that era.
On the back of the card is a chairiot race.
I found these cards at an estate sale about 35 years ago.
