January 1 - FW-01-98 Jon Temple -- Speaker system at Yardmaster's desk is bad. Need someone to check it & get it working. Bob Herring, Comm Dept checked & tested. Could find no problems. Talked with 2nd Trick Yardmaster and he agreed system working OK.

January 1 - FW-02-98 T.C Allison -- YFW-55 -- Star Telegram is not closing their car doors, this is a safety hazard. Steve Plyler & Jerry Adams contacted Richard Harper of the Star Telegram, advising them to make sure doors are closed before moving cars.

January 7 - FW-03-98 Jerry Crocker -- Centennial Yard -- After working on tracks, they left cross ties, lumber, etc., between rails, cannot walk between these tracks because of trash. John Taylor & Steve Plyer - Hazel days were set up and will comtinue till complete.

January 9 - FW-04-98 Mike Fitzgerald -- Centennial Yard has a small slip joint (2 or 3" long), across from No. 7 power switch on South rail. It is starting to make noise, someone needs to check it. John Taylor - Joint OK'd 1/12

January 9 - FW-05-98 G. F. Green -- Have dangerous situation in Bowl, because of following stumbling hazards: 1. Between Tracks 10 & 11 stumbling hazards. 2. Tracks 11 & 12 scrap & trash 3. Tracks 16 17 rock, boards & trash. 4. Tracks 24 & 25 scrap. 5. Tracks 26 & 27 bad footing 6. Tracks 31 & 32 scrap. 7. Tracks 33 7 34 mounds of ballast, dirt & exposed cable. 8. Tracks 42 7 43 ruts, bad footing 7 holes. 9. Tracks 43 & 44 ruts and holes. 10. Tracks 44, 45 & 46 holes, rutes, ditches, cable, standing water. John Taylor - Hazel days scheduled for cleanup.

January 9 - FW-06-98 R. L. Reed -- Stumbling Hazards: 1. Tracks 24, 25 & 26 large pieces of scrap, rock, etc in walkway. 2. 14, 15 & 16 large pieces of rock & scrap. 3. Tracks 44, 45, 42, 43, & 46 mounds of dirt so deep has water & mud between walkway & rail where we step to align drawbars, creating unsafe walking. John Taylor - Hazel days scheduled.

January 10 - FW-07-98 Tommy Ferris -- Condition of 501, carmen being sent to work 5 Bowl, water standing 6 to 8" deep. Have spilled beer residue from leaking tank cars has created an unsafe environment. Jose Soriano handling.

January 10 - FW-08-98 Carl Reed -- YFW15 -- Have following: 1. Scrap & large chunks of wood in walkway of 19, 17, 20 & 22 2. Crossties & deep tracktor ruts with high water 42 bowl. 3. Middle of track 43 water to the rail, cannot see ground where you are stepping. 4. Mud in 32 all the way to 39. John Taylor handling, also Hazel days scheduled.

January 10 - FW-09-98 G. F. Green -- 1. Light one end 304 broken. 2. 38 & 39 plastic spill at retarder. 3 22 & 23 wood, old ties, & scrap 4. 19 & 20 rocks, wood & 3 sacks of flour spilled. 5. 14 & 15 carbon or coal scrap, bad footing. 6. 28 bowl left clear with no break car or skates from 2nd trick the 9th. 7. Retarder burning toward left side is burned out. John Taylor corrected January 6 & 7.

January 16 - FW-10-98 Anonymous -- All switches GSW yard in in bad need of cleaning & oil. John Taylor maintained.

January 17 - FW-11-98 J. D. Hall -- YFW6 -- Switch inside Diesel Shop cannot be thrown. #1-531, have turned into Yardmaster & Service Track, and taked switch out of service. John Taylor repaired 1/17

January 20 - FW-12-98 Anonymous -- Have large craters on SSW road in yard and rip track, this is our only access. Danny Fletcher repaired & holes filled with gravel.

January 21 - FW-13-98 Anonymous -- Crossing on old Rogers Road as you come into yard toward the ATSF Main has a drop off & needs maintenance. John Taylor advises van drivers are complaining but they do not have proper clearance to use this road.

January 21 - FW-14-98 Anonymous 5 Bowl has hazardous walking conditions with water standing & spilled commodities. Jose Soriano handled.

January 22 - FW-15-98 G. P. Redden (Waxahachie Sub) Need weeds, limbs, etc. cut: (1.) Between MP 798 & 802. (2.) Ball Foster has several bushes that will knock a man off side of engine. (3.) Outside gate at LaRoach Ind. & Georgia Pacific Lead. 1. Danny Fletcher - moved 1/27. 2.Vic Johnston notified Ball Foster to mow. 3.Vic Johnston referred to BN for maintenance

January 27 --FW-16-98 Rick Sikes Hump crews advise all switches in 200 Yard, east and west, need oil and attention immediately. Rick Grisham repaired 1/28

January 28 - FW-17-98 Jon Temple (1.) #16 Power switch at Bowl is not setting up tight, needs adjusted. (2.) Switches at Everman Lead need cleaning 7 serviced, 847 Track is nearly impossible. John Taylor repaired.

January 28 - FW-18-98 Anonymous (1.) Scrap between 29 & 30; scrap, rock & wood 26 & 27; scrap 11 7 12 ( 2). 33 7 34 bad footing and a hole. John Taylor OK'd 1/29.

January 29 - FW-19-98 H. B. Cook, Ney Yard All lead lights Ney east and west are out, it is very dark. Tom Carpenter - repaired lights 1/29.

January 30 - FW-20-98 Anonymous (1.) Between 40 & 41 east end, there is a pallet. (2.) 41 Retarder light on west end is burned out. (3.) Between 42 & 43 large hole between rail about 1/2 up. Rick Grisham repaired 1/30

January 30 - FW-21-98 Anonymous Switch at east end of 304 hard to throw, needs cleaned & serviced. Rick Grisham repaired 1/30.

January 30 - FW-22-98 J. L. Still No drinking water at Shanty or East Yard at Ney. Jerry Adams suppled water 2/2.
