Miller Yard, Ennis, Dallas continue accident free. Manpower shortage in all operating crafts is critical. I failed to report that we had a reportable injury in January on one of the Carrollton Switchers when a car derailed. However, Maintenance of Way is working on over four years injury free. Car Department over two years. Signal Dept. over five years.
The directional traffic problem reported here last month is being addressed. South Bound traffic out of Centennial should be going down the former SP Fort Worth Branch and Hearne Line, North from Valley Junction back to Centennial.
On March 10th a Safety Awareness Dinner was held for all shifts at Miller. Approximately one hundred forty employees were served. Not only were Miller employees in attendance, but many came from Mesquite, Mockingbird, and Browder.
There is one thing all UP employees excel at no matter which property they came from. They Can Eat. I would like to thank, Butch McClelland, Bob Smiley, Vic Johnston, & Angelo Greco for their help.
Dan is a Locomotive Engineer working between Miller and Hearne.
