I. We are moving in TWC, (Dark Territory). We know that we have an automatic interlocker ahead and when the Distance Signal comes into view it is dark. Are we required to stop our train as soon as possible consistant with good train handling?
A. Yes.
B. No.
C. Be prepared to stop at the next signal. (Notify the dispatcher ASAP).
II. I guess we know now what the most restrictive aspect a Distance Signal can display is.
III. We have a track bulletin telling us that the automatic warning devices at a particular crossing are malfunctioning and the crossing is not proticted by someone at the crossing. How do we approach the crossing?
A. Restrictive Speed.
B. Stop before occupying the crossing and protect it from the ground.
C. Approach the crossing prepared to stop before occupying it.
IV. Refering to the previous question, when the crossing comes into sight, we see that it is working properly. Now what do we do.
A. We still need to stop and protect it.
B. Proceed at maximum speed.
C. proceed at 15 MPH until the crossing is occupied.
V. This time the dispatcher has notified us that the crossing is malfunctioning, but it is protected by one equipped flagger who is unable to protect the crossing in all directions of approaching traffic. Now what do we do?
A. Stop and assist in protecting the crossing.
B. Proceed over the crossing without stopping, not exceeding 15 MPH until the head end of the train completely occupies the crossing.
C. Stop, then proceed over the crossing on hand signals.
