Robert Lee Chancellor, 80, a retired inspector with Missour & Pacific Railroad, died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Oakhurst United Methodist Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Robert Chancellor was born March 3, 1918, in Watts, Okla. He had been a resident of Fort Worth for over 70 years. He retired from the Missouri & Pacific Railroad in 1979 after having served for 40 years as a railroad car inspector.

He was a volunteer fireman with the Eagle Mountain Fire Department for 21 years, where he was voted Fireman of the Year in 1980. He was very active with youth, having been involved with the YMCA, the church youth, and the leading of a Boy Scout troop, personally leading several 50-mile hikes. He was also a member of Oakhurst United Methodist Church.

Survivors: Wife, Mary Louise Chancellor of Fort Worth; sons, David Chancellor of Azle and Tommy Baxter of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Shonna Guzman, Scott Baxter, Cody Baxter, Amy Chancellor and Christopher Chancellor; and two great-grandchildren.
