Just a quick note. BHP, a huge iron ore operation here in Australia, holds the record for the world's heaviest train and Australia's longest train. The train ran at track speed which was at some points 40 mph. It used four remote consists with 10 C40-8's and 540 ore cars and was four miles long. The consist was: 3 x 135 x 2 x 135 x 2 x 135 x 2 x 135 x 1. The "driver" was quoted as saying it handled better than a regular train. Thought that might be interesting.
