
UP Police recently moved into old the Tower 55 Building. Special Agent Winston Johnson recently gave us a tour of the new headquarters.
"It location is great," Winston says, "It is something we have needed for a long time. I wasn't excited about moving up here initally, but it has turned out to be an ideal location."
"This place gives us a view of everything going on for at least a half mile in every direction.
"A large percentage of our calls have been about illegal activity in the East Yard Area. Now, our being here has really cut down on the tresspassing problem.

"We're state-of-the-art here. We a FAX machine, copier, printer and computer terminals with LAN computer connections that allow us to communicate system and nationwide.
"Jim Beach, UP Police Manager, worked with Superintendent Joe Whalen to re-locate us up here in Tower 55 and making it suitable for our use. We even helped with the remodeling, such as hanging the blinds in the windows.
"By the way, any Special Agent can be contacted by calling our Universal Pager: 1-888-877-7267. This number can be used for emergencies, too."
There are presently nine Special Agents in the area. Dave Hindershott, Winston Johnton, Morris Sanders, and Carl Zerweck work out of Fort Worth. Landon Mc Dowell and Larry Nunn are assigned to Dallas. District Special Agent Jim Beach and Regional Director Randy Lane work out of Irving.
Winston added, "Unfortunately for us, we are losing one of our officers, Dave Hendershott. He is transferring to North Little Rock in June. He has been here nine years. We'll miss him."
Union Pacific has been advertising for a Law Enforcement Officer to replace Dave. Some of the job requirements are:
