On Friday, June 12th, at 1:00 p.m., a retirement party was held at Miller Yard Office for Carman Bob Fudge. Friends, Co-workers, Children, Grandchildren, and wife Mary were all there for the big event. Bob was presented a special "Golden Bell" Service Award for 42 years without a personal injury by Foreman Roger Ginnett..
Bob turned 62 years of age on April 8th. He started with the SP at Ennis in 1956 and moved to Dallas 12 years ago. Bob served over 35 years as Union Local Chairman, President, and Secretary Treasurer.
His wife, Mary, plans to join Bob in retirement from her job with the City of Ennis in December. Their children Cathy Clark, Cindy Toal, and Dale Fudge and grandchildren Stephanie Toal, Ashley Toal, and Robert Fudge helped in the celebration.
Bob received many gifts including matching fishing rods for he and grandson Robert. He also received a extra special unusable Bowling Ball with multi-finger holes from co- workers. Something about bowling instead of listening to work BS?
"I'm going to miss the fellows I worked with, and I'll think about them from time to time," he laughs, "But not too much mind you."

Dan is an engineer working out of Miller - Broadway - Ney Yard.
