Here are two sixty year old Easter Baskets with the grass still in them. One was mine, the other one belonged to my brother.
Last year, I found them in my old store. I ask my brother if he remembered them. I was 5-years old, and my brother was 7. My brother said he sure did remember them and the worst whipping in his life.
Our mother had us ready for church and told us to sit on the front porch with our baskets while she and dad got ready.
My brother said we wanted our neighbors to see our new baskets, so down the street we went, to show them off.
Then our parents came out of the house ready to go to church and couldn't find us. Because he was the oldest and I followed him down the street, the said he got a bad whipping. It probably wasn't as bad as he remembered it. The baskets seem to have survived.
