Howard Ray Anthony, 73, a retired Conductor with Union Pacific Railroad, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Shannon North Funeral Chapel. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Robert Anthony M.D., Wayne Haney, C.B. Hunt, Charlie Harris, Basil Rich and Joe Laine.

Howard Ray Anthony was born Nov. 2, 1924, in Fort Worth. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 40 years of service. He flew Navy aircraft PB-4Y in the Pacific. He was a member of VFW Post No. 2137 in Azle. In his later years, he was a stock market enthusiast.

Survivors: Daughter, Suzan Jane Anthony Nicholson of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Rachael Ann Billings and Jennifer Christy Billings, both of Fort Worth; sister, Martha Anthony Harris of Houston; brother, Robert G. Anthony of Fort Worth; one niece; and four nephews.
