Nearly three and one half miles of the line is situated underground. An additional station, "Cityplace", in the tunnel will eventually be opened. It will have surface connection to the McKinney Avenue Trolley. Transfers can be made between DART and the McKinney Avenue line.
The line ends on North Central Expressway at Mockingbird Lane at the present time. Plans call for stations to also be opened at Park Lane and Lovers Lane. Supports are in place for a bridge and a stub-track leading to it for the Garland Route which will branch to the east. The Garland branch will have at least six stations.
The line is also scheduled to build on to Richardson and Plano in the near future. It will have at least eight stations.

Most of the street crossings along the North Central Expressway are made via overpasses like this one. Another overpass is seen in the distance. The expressway is on the left. Photo by Cy Martin.
