Week of 12/08
Grading begins and the foundation is poured

01/02/03- 01/06/03
First two sides of fence are completed

01/07
Things are happening more rapidly now. Walls, I am seeing walls. It looks like a building, almost. Actually it's just the framework, but its pretty impressive.

01/10
There are really walls on three sides now, and the driveway has been started.

01/21
Lots of progress has been made. Second floor frame is up. Curb and drive entrance are ready to be poured.

01/22
Entire driveway now looks ready to pour. More work was done upstairs today. Fixed windows for front were confirmed at 16" x 72".

01/29
The driveway is done and more wall parts are up.

01/31
We can not only park in the driveway, but also in the garage with our new big door.

02/18
Roof, windows, and doors are all installed. French drain is almost complete. Siding has been started.

03/01
North Texas ice storm paralyzed the city for several days and made a muddy mess of the back yard. We got bids for the concrete pads and yard grading.

03/10
The pads were poured and the landing for the stairs is done. Tomorrow the stairs should be finished. The street side of the fence is mostly done, except for the little door.

03/21
Stairs are done and Dad is here. Lots of stuff is happening now.

03/29
Dad is unstoppable. He works and works and he just won't quit. We can't keep up. He's framing, wiring, insulating and planning his next move.

05/12
Dad left and came back again. He finished putting up drywall, got the bathroom mostly done (except for fixtures) and built a bookcase. We got tape and bed guys to finish up and everything looks beautiful. Dad had to go fishing. I don't blame him.

05/19
Rock came by and whipped up a gate on Saturday (not automatic, yet!), but Hosteen can now play in the yard. Today we cranked up the A/C and primed most of the upstairs.

09/07
Bathroom is finished and usable. Carpet is ordered and should be here in a day or two. After that we can start moving stuff in.

09/16
The ceiling fans and closet lights were installed last weekend and today the carpet was installed. Its a cream colored wool and goes very nicely with the walls.

10/11/03
The structure was painted to match the house and looks beautiful. Winterizing is completed.
08/22/04 Its been awhile, so thought I would show these pictures of the structure during the summer. Its been very rainy this year and is more lush than normal in the back yard.
08/22/04 Where I spend a lot of my time. Hosteen hangs with me. Its getting cosier all the time, but there is still a lot to do.
041005 Haven't posted any pictures lately, so here's an update. Its very cozy and I work up here almost every day. Some days from morning till night.
