2008 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board members elected at the November 24, 2007 membership meeting for 2008 were: Mike Rembor-Chairman, Steve Allen-President, Barb Gitre-First VP, Mike Boulan-Second VP, Christy Howard-Secretary, Mike Rembor-Treasurer, Board Members at Large-Barb Hicks, Claudette Harrell, Jeff Howard and Anderson Coleman. Both Christy & Jeff Howard resigned in June. The Board appointed Wolfgang Spider to the position of Board Member at Large and Woody Gill to the position of Secretary. Claudette Harrell resigned in July and Don McGhee was appointed to the position for the remainder of the year.

Our thanks go out to Dan & Linda Mong for their generous donation received along with their membership renewal in June.

Brian "Big B" Burleson of Big B and the Magic Bullets made a very generous donation to the Society along with his membership in late May. Thank you Brian.

Frank Koscielski renew in May and included a generous donation. It supports our drive to preserve the Blues in the Detroit area. Thanks Frank.

Mark Gallo does it again! Another generous stack of CDs reached us today, May 22nd. These are recent releases and will make a nice addition to our merchandise table. Thanks Mark for your monthly CD reviews and your continued support of the Society.

Recording star Jason Ricci joined the Society and included a donation during his concert at Callahan's in January. Too cool, thanks Jason.

A special thanks goes out to recording star Bettye LaVette who made a generous donation to the Detroit Blues Society during the Anti-Freeze BLues Festival. She is a special talent and a great friend of Detroit blues.

DBS MEMORIAL FUND

The Society wishes to announce that there is more to be done as other important blues musicians lie in unmarked graves.  We will continue to collect donations to honor these men and women of Detroit blues that have left us.  Donations may be sent to: Memorial Fund; Detroit Blues Society; P.O.
