Program:  Accessible Design in the Public Right of Way
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) impact the design of all facilities including streets, highways and other transportation projects.  Our April Program covers the basic requirements for accessible design in the public right of way.  In addition, the speaker will discuss curb ramp requirements, the use of truncated domes, and provisions for accessible street crossings, based on the requirements of the ADA and the TAS.  Upcoming new requirements will also be highlighted.  The speaker will address questions at our Transportation and Development Institute (T&DI) Committee Meeting following the Luncheon.
