Program: New Developments in Highway Construction
Anyone who has driven south from Dallas on I-45 over the last several years has
encountered intensive highway reconstruction. The last portion of that work in the
Dallas County, however, has been underway between I-20 and the county line since late
1998. This 8-mile, $50 million project has featured new techniques for economical
highway construction and new ideas in pavement design. Our December speaker will focus his
discussion on these topics. For additional information/background see article.
Speaker: Gary Moonshower, P.E., TxDOT Southeast Dallas Area Engineer Mr. Moonshower has worked for TxDOT since graduating from Louisiana Tech with a BSCE in 1986. He spent 8 years as a construction engineer in the TxDOT’s Southwest Dallas Area office, and he then moved to Corsicana as the Assistant Area Engineer for Navarro County in 1994. He has served as the Southeast Dallas Area Engineer since September 2000.
| Please join us for our third annual "Holiday Gathering" after the December Luncheon The Branch has planned another festive gathering after the December Luncheon to allow the Members to enjoy the holiday spirit and have an opportunity to visit with each other. We plan to end lunch early and allow time for Members to mingle between 12:45 and 1:30 PM and have desert. Music will be provided. We hope to see you there! |
