Klondike Camp is this weekend. Pack 5:30 PM on thursday, meet to leave at 5:00 PM Friday.
The Eagle approval time is now longer than ever! You need to plan for about 6 to 8 weeks from the time that you finish the paper work within Troop 285 so that the Council can review your work, forward info to national, and receive confirmation of your Eagle rank. Plan way ahead!
At the District Awards banquet, the Troop won the 2002 Quality Unit award and 100% Boys Life Participation ribbon. Mr. Pete Stein hauled down one of the very few District Awards of Merit. A Big Congrats, Mr. Stein!
We were glad to have Rob J. and his dad Mike visiting. Rob is a First Class Scout and looking at joining Troop 285. Welcome, Rob!
Nick D. earned Scout Rank Monday! Way to go, Nick.
A special instruction was presented by Mr. Keller, a survivor of a winter exposure ordeal, in which he talked about being prepared, preventing frostbite, and planning winter trips.
A very nice telescope was donated by the Harbaugh's to the troop; that ought to come in handy for Astronomy merit badge! Thanks to the Harbaugh family!
The Havasu Grand Canyon trip over spring break still has three slots open. See Mr. Cox right away.
Camping, communications, personal fitness, and snow sports merit badge instructions were held. Basic Skills worked on First Class citizenship requirements. A new Camping merit badge class will start next week.
Troop Committee meeting will be held Tuesday, January 14th, at 7PM.
