Embudo Canyon Prep Hike - February 1999

On February 20th, Troop 285 conducted our fourth preparation hike for the upcoming 50 Miler Hike in the Grand Canyon. Starting from the trailhead on Embudo Trail, we hiked about 3 miles up to the ridge high above Albuquerque. We had great weather, and even better company! A practice cooking contest was won by Todd W's cooking group, who got a quart of water boiling in about 5 minutes. They won their choice of instant drink mixes or soups to enjoy with their lunch!

Here's a photo gallery of some of the highlights of the hike! Click on a photo for the enlarged version.

The waterfall - actually about 8 feet high. New Mexico does have a little surface water, after all!

Mrs. Cox comes back a little tired, but Mr. Nigrey and Mr. Pucetti are there for support.
