Instructions PAGE ONE: The stock used in this example is 1 1/4" pipe with 1/4" thick wall. Round bar may be also used but thin walled pipe will not allow deep seed stamping and will distort. The seed stampings at left are exaggerated for prominence. The Strawberry Quicktime Movie shows the finished, forged piece An oxyacetylene torch is essential to isolate the heat, since the Strawberry shape will distort if a full heat is used while stamping. | 1. Begin creating the Strawberry shape with a pipe fuller. Fuller pipe at A and B, leaving a distance X, approximately equal to the outside diameter of the pipe. Cut off the end at fuller A. | 2. Forge a conical shape with a round point at the end of the pipe. Tack weld a temporary handle to the end point A. Cut off Strawberry shape at fuller B and grind off the tip leaving a flat top. |

3a. Hold the handle in a vise and use an oxyacetylene torch to localize heat. A calyx will be added later so create an indention by heating the center top of the strawberry and hammer down with a round end punch.
