 h Texas Blacksmiths Association is an ABANA chapter formed to help spread the knowledge of the blacksmithing craft. The organization is located in the North Central Texas area, although people from all areas are welcomed to join. Membership fee is $15. NTBA gladly accepts invitations to demonstrate the craft of blacksmithing at public events. To schedule a demo contact NTBA.

NTBA MEETINGS 2009 Weekly Hammer-In at Frank, Bill and Pages shop in Princeton, every Thursday at 6 pm. Directions: From Hwy 75/ Central Expwy. in McKinney, exit at Hwy. 380. Travel east on Hwy 380 about 8 miles to Princeton. In Princeton, the shop is just to the east of the 4th Street stop sign on Hwy 380, turn north into the drive next to the C. W. October 3 - Harvest Festival and Craft Fair. See Map. Heritage Farmstead Museum, 1900 West 15th Street, Plano. Members may bring forges and sell ironwork. Note - The previously scheduled Anvil Repair Workshop has been delayed to a later date. November 14 - Edgewood Christmas Bazaar. See Map. Edgewood is 10 miles north of Canton on Hwy 80, the park is at North Houston and Elm, (903) 896-4358 (after 6 pm). The historical village contains 14 restored buildings of the 1900 period with a museum and log cabin blacksmith shop. NTBA members are invited to bring forges for demonstrations and items to sell. April 10 - Knifemaking demonstration by James Crowell at Frank, Bill and Pages shop in Princeton. See directions above to the demo location, See Map. James Bio - James Crowell began making knives in Mt. View, AR in 1980 and is a past Ozark Folk Center, State Park, Resident Blacksmith and Knife maker. He earned the distinction of Master Bladesmith from the American Bladesmith Society in 1986 and was certified as the first, non founding father, instructor for the American Bladesmith Society (ABS) that same year. http://www.crowellknives.com/
For any information about NTBA please email us at dwwilson@flash.net. NTBA has meetings on the second Saturday of each month, (with occasional exceptions). Monthly meetings are located at members shops and other locations such as farm museums in the North central Texas area. Meeting topics and directions are in the club newsletter. Hours are normally from 9 am until 3 pm, however, multi-day events such as Hammerfest and Dancing Hammers are weekdays 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday 9 am - noon. Demos are given by club members and guests, and newcomers are invited to participate.
