EKLYPS FAQ's What is EKLYPS? Just one person really - me. Nobody else. Just little ole me. Who is ME? Just call me Greg. :-) I've been a Joe collector since the Adventure Team days and now focus my attention strictly on 1/6th scale military pieces. I also am a W.W.II re-enactor and on again/off again paintballer. Is this your one and only job? I wish. ;-) I maintain a 9 to 5 as a Marketing Services Supervisor at an ingredients company. EKLYPS started out with me just doing Cotswold mass orders every month and eventually evolved into what you see today - a thriving multinational conglomerate ;-). Seriously, I maintain this business after hours and on weekends to the best of my ability. That is why I am so hard to get in touch with via phone. I'm constantly busy! Why can't I ever reach you by phone? See above for the best explanation. I'm in constant motion around here. Reading e-mail, updating the website, printing orders, opening letter orders, placing orders with suppliers, checking up on e-mailed questions, reading and posting to the newsgroups, unpacking shipments, packing orders, etc. Oh yeah, then I try and spend time with my wife, two daughters, and son (don't worry - they are my #1 priority). Best way to reach me is by e-mail. I almost never answer the phone for I can go on conversational tangents forever, and before you know it, it's 10:00 and I still have to pack 10 cases of Hermann's... Why don't you keep product in stock? Well, I do and I don't. I try to keep Cot's inventory to between bare minimum and nothing. If I have anything, it was because there was an error in ordering or someone cancelled their order. I do keep overstock on items like Dragon and Elite Force and keep a running inventory on items like Combat Hero. Eventually, I'd like to keep more product in stock so as to ensure a quicker turnaround, but that isn't happening anytime soon. I do keep storage space for some of these items, but to ensure that I can keep my prices in check, I try to keep the costs down to a minimum. Why do you charge my card up front? Sometimes I do, other times, I don't. Custom stuff and Cot's stuff I charge up front all the time so as to avoid any "I want this please" and get two week's later the "Oh, I've changed my mind - I don't want it now". This can lead to problems. Other things, I charge when I order them from the distributor (Dragon, etc). Some times, I don't charge until I ship the item (in stock items). It's all really dependent on what you are ordering. Why so long on the custom stuff? Bottom line - it's hand made and dependent on one or two people to make it. Brian Vota weapons are made by Brian Vota - nobody else. John's Stuff helmets are made by, you guessed it, John. I've tried to keep these pieces in inventory but sell them out before they even hit my doorstep. I've just concluded that these pieces take longer than a retail piece and there aren't any ways around it. I would cease offering these pieces, but they're just too darn cool. |
