Prototypical 1946 German Soldiers

Ever wondered what the Germans would have looked like if the war continued?  Well, based on research on items captured near the end of the war, we can assimilate a close recreation.

Pictured here are a Heer Infantryman and a SS Infantryman.  Both are outfitted in the Liebermuster Camoflage smock and kielhosen.  Their helmets are the M44 design, which the German forces were about to switch to before the surrender.  The weapon is the Stg 45,an improved model over the MP44/Stg44.  Also included is  the prototypical designed Nipolit Fragmentation grenade developed in 1945 by the WAFAG Co.  Belt and Y Straps are of the canvas design (as opposed to leather). Additional gear is standard of that of a German soldier late in the war.
