Electronic Manufacturing Of Texas did a soldering speed test between SolderPal and the old way we used to solder (solder spool on top of table, and pulling the solder by hand). Two speed tests were done, one for CIRCUIT BOARDS and the other for WIRE SOLDERING.
CIRCUIT BOARD SPEED TEST: Two twenty-four pin ICs were used for the solder speed test by each Employee. One IC was soldered with the SolderPal and the other was soldered the old way. A stop watch was used to measure the time required to solder each IC. The results are listed below.
| Employee | SolderPal | Old way we used to solder |
Speed increase % with SolderPal |
| No. 1 | 75 seconds | 97 seconds | 22.68 % increase |
| No. 2 | 87 seconds | 119 seconds | 26.89 % increase |
| No. 3 | 171 seconds | 223 seconds | 23.31 % increase |
| No. 4 | 84 seconds | 123 seconds | 31.70 % increase |
| Employee | SolderPal | Old way we used to solder |
Speed increase % with SolderPal |
| No. 1 | 25 seconds | 59 seconds | 57.62 % increase |
| No. 2 | 36 seconds | 120 seconds | 69.36 % increase |
| No. 3 | 31 seconds | 121 seconds | 74.38 % increase |
| No. 4 | 32 seconds | 104 seconds | 69.23 % increase |
Note: Electronic Manufacturing of Texas Employees have used the SolderPal for some time now so please use the SolderPal for about a week and then take the SOLDERPAL SPEED TEST.
EXTRA INCREASE IN SOLDERING SPEED
The SOLDERPAL speed test did not include all the stops and starts that typically occur when soldering for a long period of time. Throughout the day you are constantly picking up the solder wire and then dropping it any place on your table, and later you have to find the solder wire to pick it up again. But with the SolderPal you always know the location of the solder dispenser probe, and this can also increase the soldering speed.
