Charter agreement & instructions

-         Gather your group at Burnham Harbor outside “J” dock gate (see directions below).  At 7:30 pm a staff member of the Sophisticated Lady will escort passengers to the yacht.  This is a private dock, so do not enter dock area until escorted by staff member.

-         To gain entrance to yacht each passenger must show a photo ID and confirmation form (this form will be e-mailed to you when reservation is received).

-         Be certain to give yourself extra time for traffic and parking.  For the consideration of other customers, the yacht cannot wait for late arrivals.  The Sophisticated Lady cannot be held responsible for lack of parking, traffic or any other situation that may delay your arrival.  Parking fees vary and are determined by the city of Chicago .

-         Reservations will be made on line with form to follow.  You will receive a confirmation form via email to be brought with you to enter cruise (along with each passenger’s photo ID.)

-         All sales are final.  Reservations are non-cancelable and non-transferable.  Any passenger not on board the yacht at 8:00 pm will forfeit their reservation and no refunds or exchanges will be given.  Number of passengers cannot be decreased after the payment is made.  If the yacht is unable to depart the dock due to weather and/or Lake conditions the event will proceed at the dock.  Weather condition options to be determined by the captain of Sophisticated Lady.

-         Dress is business casual.

Directions to Burnham Harbor

Coming in from the North or South on Lake Shore Drive ,

Exit 18th Drive , Follow the signs to Burnham Harbor .

You will see the Harbor Master's House (white wood building). 

Park in the South parking lot*.  Walk North to the "J" dock (the first dock North of the Harbor Master's House).  Please wait at the gate and a staff member will escort your group to the yacht approximately ten minutes prior to your event for boarding.

*If a parking attendant is not available you may purchase a parking permit in the Harbor Master's Office based on availability.  In the event you are unable to park in the Burnham Lot, other possible parking areas may include:

the " South Lot " which is North of McCormick Place (off 18^th Dr )

the "Waldron Deck" (North of 18^th Drive )

the Field Museum or Adler Planetarium Lots

Public transportation or taxi is highly

recommended for special event dates.

If traveling by Taxi, stress to be taken to the Harbor Master House on East Waldron , not the Burnham Harbor Yacht Club. 

(the yacht club is a good 25-minute walk away)
