Model #109 (Intersecting Cylinders) This is a 5-piece model of the right-angle intersection of 2 circular cylinders. The 4 circular pieces are made of hollow tubular maple plywood and the intersection is a lamination of walnut and birch plywood. Viewing the intersection from the end of one of the cylinders, the plywood sections appear as chords of a circle. Viewing the intersection from above, as in the lower right photo, the representative square sections which make up the intersection may be seen. The base is grooved to maintain relative alignment of the pieces.
