This base of this model is formed by intersecting a parabola with a line which is at an angle to the parabola's axis of symmetry. The thin cross-section is a square, shown in contrasting color, which is on the axis of symmetry. The cross-section is representative of the infinite number of square cross-sections which make up the solid. The hardwood in the model shown is walnut, and may differ from delivered models depending on the availability of materials.
