This base of this model is formed by intersecting two parabolas of different equations, with their axes of symmetry offset but parallel. The thin cross-section is a right triangle, shown in contrasting color, which is parallel to and between the axes of symmetry of the two parabolas. The cross-section is representative of the infinite number of triangular cross-sections which make up the solid. The hardwood in the model shown is cherry, and may differ from delivered models depending on the availability of materials.
