Music Ministries

The Music Ministry of First United Methodist Church of Missouri City seeks to make all people disciples of Christ through the universal language of music.

Vocal choirs

Children's Choirs: Children from 4 years to 5th grade sing in our children's choirs. Rehearsals are held Sundays at 5 p.m. in rehearsal rooms A & B.

	G.I.F.T.: (God's Inspiration From Teens) Our Youth Choir welcomes all youth grades 6 through college. In addition to providing music for the 8:30 a.m. worship service (September - May), this choir participates in an annual tour. Rehearsals are held Sundays at 4 p.m.
	Grace Notes : Ladies Ensemble sings at the 9:45 a.m. worship service on the third Sunday of each month. Rehearsals are held at 8:30 a.m. on the second and third Sundays of each month.
	Last Sunday Singers: sing on the last Sunday of each month. Open to anyone who has ever sung in a choir. Rehearsal 7:30 a.m. on the last Sunday of the month.

Chancel Choir: Adult choir rehearses 7:30 p.m. Wednesday; Sings at 11:00 a.m. worship service. Meet in Rehearsal room A.

Handbell Choirs

	Heavenly Chimes: 1st & 2nd graders- incorporated in Children's Music on Sunday afternoons
	Praise Ringers: 3rd, 4th & 5th graders - incorporated in Children's Music on Sunday afternoons
	Youth Handbells: 6th- college students are welcome. Rehearsal held in handbell room on Sundays at 7 p.m.

Chancel Bells: adults - 7 p.m. Monday in the handbell room.

Instrumental Ensembles provide opportunities for those who play an instrument.

Cantatas are presented by the various choirs periodically.

Vision Statement

Through answering our own call to discipleship, we pray we will provide spirit-filled worship, nurture opportunities to educate people about music and Christ, and use our ministry as an outreach to the world community to give all a chance to participate in Christian music, Christ's teachings and His unconditional love.
