Process
is similar to conventional stamping where
materials are blanked & pierced by shearing forces.
Characterictics:-
High volume production with close tolerances.
Good dimensional & flatness tolerances.
Good surface finish of sheared edge (16 RMS possible).
Hardening of sheared edge.
Relativley expensive tooling.
Process times generally slower than conventional
