Good Afternoon, I am attempting to help a friend with an OEM captive
spinning operation to find a replacement lathe for one recently lost in
a fire. We are looking for an 18-22" manual machine, preferrably new or
a good used machine. I was formerly in the spinning business and I am not
aware of anyone who was or is building new, manual type machines since
Charles Salzberg of NYC went out of business some years ago.
I would appreciate any information that you may have regarding such
new or used machines. The people I'm trying to help have also lost a substantial
amount of thread adaptors, chucks, tools and so on; sources for these type
items would be most appreciated. As I'm sure you are aware, spinning is
not the most mainstream manufacturing activity and trying to locate equipment
and support services has proven rather frustrating. As such, I thought
reaching out to those involved in everyday use of this process would be
the best sources of information.

Thank you for your cooperation. -Rich Cantor
