A Word Concerning Jim Britnell

Jim Britnell is the Director of Reconciled Ministries. Jim is uniquely qualified to develop and lead this outreach ministry due to his tragic, yet victorious, background. Jim's life included being expelled from high school, drug abuse, and criminal activity, ranging from public drunkenness to armed robbery. While a junior in high school, Jim was arrested for breaking and entering a dwelling while armed with a deadly weapon and assault upon a person. While in jail at the age of 17, Jim gave his life to Jesus Christ.

On February 19, 1975, Jim was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Due to the effect of Jesus Christ on Jim's life, he was released in September 1978. On June 9, 1992, Jim was granted a full pardon from the Governor of the State of Florida.

While in prison Jim was instrumental in founding an inmate church that began with eight Inmates and grew to more than 200 men. Many of the leaders in that church are now out and working full-time in the ministry.

For more than ten years Jim worked as a printer, a trade he learned while in prison. During this time he began to go back into the county jails and prisons to encourage and strengthen the inmates.

In the spring of 1989 the ministry had grown to more than Jim could do on a part-time basis. Jim then launched out full-time in order to train men and women who will build churches in prisons.

Jim is an ordained minister. He currently lives in Pensacola with his wife, Pat, and their five children.
