They report the following as current activities:
2) Harvey teaches Mexican children and teenagers in two schools. One is an open Christian school, which means that two/thirds of the children are from non-Christian families. Five days a week he has a one hour Bible course with his seventh grade homeroom. They are becoming more and more intent on the Word of God. In the second school all of the children are from Christian families. 3) Every Saturday morning Harvey and June go to El Colli, an area on the edge of Guadalajara, to minister to children. The children are given milk, cereal, and fruit. They are learning of God's love. Christian songs are sung, and a brief Bible teaching given. Many have said the sinner's prayer. There have been as many as seventy attend. The El Colli streets are usually unpaved dust although following rain they become mud-holes. Many of the residents are Indians that have come to Guadalajara from their mountain villages to "better their lives". They have little or no education and there are few jobs available for them. Some of their mothers beg on the streets of the city. Some sell Chiclets on the streets. Many of the parents are in poverty. The hope for these people is the breaking of the spiritual bondage of poverty in learning about Jesus who sets the captives free. Their children must also learn that education is the way to escape from their poverty and their substandard homes, many of cardboard, wood, and scrap metal.Besides the call to be teachers they are also called to a Ministry of Helps 4) Harvey goes, from time to time, on crusades and missions outreaches to the villages and ranchos of Mexico with the missions training students and groups from our local church. On numerous occasions we have taken van loads of young people to the Church campground in the mountains for retreats. 5) Each month they send a letter to family, friends, and prayer parners. The letter is a monthly update on their activities, requests prayer, and gives a brief Biblical message. Once a year financial help for postage for the letter is requested but there are no pleas for financial assistance. To obtain our prayer letter E Mail us your Name and Address and note that you would like to receive "The Servant's Report".
