A Warmoth Sunburst Strat

This Sunburst Strat is from the shop of Marc Ahlfs. Here is Marc's description;

"This is a Warmoth Strat, with ash body and birdseye maple "boatback" neck. (Note on Ash: Don't skip the grain filler!!!  Ash is thirsty, and
nitrocellulose lacquer will not fill the deep holes in the grain).  Also, I recommend using sanding sealer; get a cheap little airbrush or other sprayer to apply the sanding sealer (after the grain filler) instead of brushing it on. It's way nicer to sand a smooth layer of sanding sealer instead of trying to remove heavy brush marks and sanding through to bare wood accidentally!

 I stained the wood (both neck and body) with neck amber and lightly sanded it to emphasize the grain and flame and birdseyes before the first coat of clear went on.

After clearcoat, another layer of Guitar Reranch neck amber was used for the neck and the burst, with Reranch cherry red for the transition zone
and (I forget what brand) black lacquer for the edge.  Several coats of Reranch nitrocellulose lacquer clear coat over everything, with fine
sanding between each coat.  (Sand throughs are a ******)

Also, Earvana nut was used, for perfect intonation with all chords. The pickups are Bill Lawrence L-280s, and it sounds incredible.
Thanks, Bill!"

Thank you Marc. That is one great looking sunburst. Thanks for the pics..
