I prepped the body by sanding to 320 grit and then stained the top the deepThe dark grain really looks good. Fender should build one like yours. Thanks for the pic.
cherry color using a mixture of the water based cherry dye and black Rit
clothing dye (as suggested by you). I then did two clear coats with the
aerosol Nitro. I then used the black aerosol lacquer to do the burst and back.
Then 12 coats of lacquer and a lot of elbow grease sanding down and
polishing. This was the first guitar I have ever finished and I think all in
all it came out pretty good.
That is about it. I guess I just want to add again thanks for all the help and
that the products form reranch are great. I am pretty sure it was 90 percent
the products and 10 percent me that allowed it to come out so well.-Wesley Bange
