My first question is regarding the blue 3M painters tape. I used this to tape off the front of my guitar while I color coated the sides and back. BUT, after I took the taped mask off the front, I was left with a small line of tape residue around the edge of the top. This isn't good. So, is there a trick to getting the residue off? And, is there some other kind of tape that won't do this? ( I thought this stuff wasn't supposed to do this...) I tried to wet sand it off with 600, but that didn't go too well. I tried using some simple cleaners, but they didn't work either. Finally, I tried a bit of swirl remover/polish and it actually worked great. Except that some of the residue from the polish is now hanging around. There must be a better way and a better tape?
Also, is it ok to paint over nitro after you've used a bit of swirl remover on it?
