: For my masking purposes (white binding - no compound curves) I used the 3M automotive masking tape. It left no visible residue after I removed it, leaving a dead straight border with no bleed through. I did wipe down the entire area with naphtha prior to spraying the clear coats. I have also used black vinyl electrical tape, but if I remember correctly, I did this to protect the binding from the grainfiller.
Statorvane,
Thanks for the tips. I haven't tried naphtha yet.
Is the 3M Automotive masking tape something you can get at any autoparts store? I wonder how long one should wait before applying tape to nitro? Is 24 hours enough dry time?
