Man ths is no easy job ! I am restoring a LP-JR that has a single dog ear P-90. The customer did not crae for the look. The new look he wanted was still a P-90 but did not want the dog ears on it. The only thing I could find (in his budget) was a DiMarzio Humbucker that required no alterations to the body. I ordered it. While waiting on it I went ahead with the body work, filling the dog ear holes etc. I received the DiMarzio, I was surprised that it had a Soapbar cover with it, also it had it's own cover with 12 holes in it (the Di Mar. has 12 screws) He hated that, he wanted the black soapbar cover. When you put it on, no screws anywhere, looks funny as hell. I don't know what to do now except order a black 12 holer or leave the pup open. Some people.
