Lately I have been mostly watching big budget movies. There are a few indies out I want to see, but I haven't gotten around to it. Anyhow, The Replacements and Remember the Titans: 2 very different types of movies about football and people. They both make ya think and laff, but also want to watch football. The only thing is football never looks that good on TV, so I think I will pass. I also saw Almost Famous and I thought it was great. Ah the rock and roll lifestyle. If only everyone could have such a cool story to tell and I wonder how much of it was really true. It has a pretty good sound track to it as well. And the best thing about the movie of course was Jason Lee, I mean even all hairy he looks good. What more could you want!

Saving Grace!

This movie was a total surprise. It looks like it is going to be some cute heartwarming flick about a woman trying to get over her husbands death, but it couldn't be further from the truth! I don't want to go into what it is about, cuz it would ruin it, but you have to go see it. I laughed so hard I cried. And there are so many good people in it. It won awards at Sundance and is one of those movies that after you see, you want to tell everyone to go see it. A quote from an except from Andrea Alsberg's Sundance Film Festival programs notes, "Brenda Blethyn's characterization of Grace is the film's centre: dignity and humor while under the influence.".

Anyhow trust me and go see it, if I am wrong and you don't like it I will give you your money back. =)

If you are in Houston it opens Friday 18Aug2000 at the River Oaks Landmark.

So, now that I am back in the states, I have seen a lot more movies. So I am going to do a mini review page here. And I guess the lists have sort of died .. o well .. that is life.

The last movie I saw was The Virgin Suicides. It was Sofia Coppola's First full length film and was very well done. There was one great part, it was a time lapse over the house .. and the way it was done .. well I was just sitting there going WOW. It was so simple, but really beautiful.

I love films. If I had a nickel for every movie I have seen or rented each time I would be loaded!!! I am a child of the 80's so of course, as with most people my age, John Hughes ruled my childhood.

I find that as music does, movies influence your life and allow you to escape to another world and forget about your trouble, stress and real life. And at times shows you that there are other people out there just like you thinking the same thing.

Movies also have a way of introducing new music into out lives as well as fashion. I know I would have never bought a Rave Ups album (yes album not a CD) had it not been for Sixteen Candles.

Anyhow I guess what I am going to do with this page it list my TOP TEN fav movies for certain topics. However, I must give the lists more thought so until further notice they shall remain unfinished.
